We’re thrilled to introduce two new features to ReachOut: Attendance Tracking and Geofencing. These feature additions cater to the needs of admins and service managers for tracking technicians’ activities at job sites and customer locations. 

Attendance tracking allows technicians to monitor their working hours, ensuring optimal time utilization. With the timesheet, technicians can view their logged working hours within the app, while admins or managers can access daily attendance logs. Geofencing establishes virtual perimeters around work sites and customer locations, verifying technicians’ presence against the customer’s location.

Monitoring attendance and tracking field technician locations is crucial for ensuring operational smoothness and maximizing productivity. Traditional methods are often time-consuming and disorganized, particularly when dealing with dispersed technicians covering multiple locations. 

ReachOut significantly improves service operations effectiveness and simplifies attendance management by integrating attendance tracking and geofencing functionalities. 

  • Attendance Tracking

Attendance tracking involves systematically monitoring field technicians’ working hours and activities while they’re on-site.

In ReachOut, this new feature can be toggled on or off via the web app. This will enable the Timesheet feature as a separate menu where admins/service managers can view the technicians’ daily attendance. There are extensive filtering options to easily sort and retrieve time logs based on technician, service team, and date range.

This helps managers see how technicians spend their time and identify ways to improve efficiency. It also makes payroll management easier, guarantees fair compensation for technicians, and sorts attendance-related disputes.

Besides, technicians can use the mobile app to clock in when they start a job, mark breaks, and clock out when they’re done. They can also view their time logs, including hours worked and travel time.

  • Geofencing

Geofencing establishes virtual boundaries around specific geographic areas, such as job sites or customer locations, to bolster security measures by permitting access only to authorized personnel.

In ReachOut, the geofencing feature verifies a technician’s location against the designated customer site when initiating a job. This functionality lets admins or service managers confirm that technicians have arrived at the correct job site or customer location.

Admins can activate geolocation and adjust settings to validate job locations, including defining the radius for validation.

Automated responses are triggered by a technician’s entry or exit from a geofenced area. For instance, if a technician enters a customer location within the specified radius, they can immediately commence the job. 

Conversely, if the technician’s location is outside the designated radius, an alert notifies them of the discrepancy, ensuring adherence to assigned locations.
